Live Your Life

Image
Good morning everyone, how are you today? The last few days, we had wonderful sunny days here in The Netherlands. Perfect for a summer scrapbook layout in mixed media style, right? I played along with Tim Holtz snapshot photos, a couple on a beach. The yellow color on my page stands for the sun and the blue watercolor for the sea. Don`t we all want to live our lives as we please? Since I no longer have obligations as a designer in design teams. I am free for my other hobbies, so as gardening, reading and fitness. I am busy converting my garden entirely to a permakultur garden following the method of Ruth Stout. After three years of a warm and dry summers I can see and feel the climat change in our garden. After that, I would also like to grow more of our own vegetables,  new plant beds had to be created. What a beautiful way to spent the time outside. But anyway there is also the new book of the "Seven Sisters" waiting of me to read it. LIVE YOUR LIFE... I created this layou...

My Angel.

Image
Hello my dearest blog reader, todays sharing is actually an older scrapbook layout in mixed media style. From my Angel layout collection. I created a few Angel pages with fotos from funeral places arond the world years ago.  I really love old weathered tombstones. This is such a wonderful memory. MY ANGEL... It`s good sometimes to look back at what I already have created in the last years. I can proudly say that I have become a talented scrapbook artist. I designed for challenge sites, for companys, I gave online workshops, I had a YouTube account where I showed tutorials, I designed my own background scrapbook paper, I give group or individually scrapbook lessons and last but not least I gave Skype lessons during the pandemic. I have achieved everthing that can be achieved in the field of scrapbboking and I am very grateful for that. Still I have so much ideas for many many pages and I think there is not enough time  during the day to do it all. So my dear blog readers,...

Of course I created a scrapbook layout in mixed media style, that is what I like to do. 13arts May challenge

Image
A beautiful statement and quote about what can happen in the Spring month of May. Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you. - Nathaniel Hawthorne- an American novelist and short story writer. His works often focus on history, norality and religion.  Welcome May and welcome my dear blog reader, for my first inspiration in the months of May, I designed for the new  13arts IG challenge a scrapbook layout in mixed media style. Our May mood board with lots of brown, rust and cream colors screams for a vintage project.   I started on a sheet of the Down Under paper collection.  Which has a red, rust colored background already. So that was perfect for what I had in mind. My stencils which I used are Tattered Diamonds and Lamps from the Industrial Zone collection. My decoration comes from different paper collections:  Industrial Zone, Magnolia Dreams and Mr: Handso...

13arts scrapbook layout

Image
Hello everyone, and welcome to my second blog post for the company  https://13arts.pl/ . I created a scrapbook layout in mixed media style with the beautiful paper collections  Memory Lane  and  Rose in Love . My photo is from  https://www.instagram.com/marcin_nagraba/?hl=en  an amazing photo artist on IG. A closer look to my page: I started my background with a white wash layer and I added the white wash to my photo as well. A white wash is perfect for a dreamy look or for a shabby chic look. After that I added black gesso randomly to my background. Following by adding gel medium mixed with color glow and glitter to a stencil. The next step was stamping. After everything was dry I added my focale point and my embellishments.  These are some of the products which I used on my page. I hope you feel a bit inspired to create with the wonderful products of 13arts. Have a beautiful day. xoxo

The next scrapbook layout is a watercolor and indiaink background. Where I added some black stamp images and a gel medium skin transfer as  focal point. Miss sunshine... is a mixed media background scrapbook layout with a fussy cutting black and white photo. The next layout is a 3D effect scrapbook layout with lots of flowers and greenery. Minimalist spray color and embellishments as words and butterflies. And last but not least  a stamp and stencil background with a photo transfer image , alcohol ink colored transparency and vi...

Scrap Fx blog post May #1

Image
Hello everyone,  and welcome to my first blog post in the month of May for the company Scrap Fx Australia. I have for you as inspiration one scrapbook layout and two art journal pages. So let`s start with my scrapbook layout. Every step of the journey is the journey. A closer look to my page: I started my layout on a paper sheet from 13arts called: Travel the world, which I covered with clear gesso first. After that I decided to make a white-wash on the paper background with white gesso and a little bit water. My next step was stamping and stencil work with Archival Ink and Scrap Fx stamps and stencil. After that I did my paper layering behind the photo. I also decided this time to create a scrapbook layout without 3D effect. That means no art-stones glitter and pearls. Only transparency and chipboard from ScrapFx as my decoration. My next inspirations are two art journal pages. Circus de ScrapFx is my first one. A closer look to my page: I`ve been always looking to create so...

Image
Hello my dear blog reader, and welcome to my second blog post for this month for the company ScrapFx. Here is the link:  http://www.scrapfx.com.au/blog/ I hope your Christmas was filled with lots of happiness, love and laughter. For my second blog post I was inspired by the abstract art of Hilma at Klint. Hilma at Klint was an Swedish artist born in 1862. The Swan 1940 Hilma at Klint. This is the painting which inspired me the most. I have consciously placed the women photo in the middle of my scrapbook page,  just as Hilma at Klint did by her painting the Swan (picture above). I don`t know what inspired you, or what motivated you to create art.  I my case it was the abstract art from Robert Rauschenbach, Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning and Hilma at Klint. But there are so many more artist which I really love. I like to scroll through art books, that is for me the best inspiration and motivation to make and create art.  ART MAKES THE SOUL GROW. I don't know ...

Hello my dear blog reader, I hope you are well and you enjoy the Autumn season.  I created for you a scrapbook layout of course in mixed media style, with my thoughts on the   festive month of December. Heat three teaspoons of milk with the rest of the ingredients until a creamy substance is formed. Then add the rest of the milk. Fill the hot chocolate in a cup.  Finish touch: wipped cream, mini marshmellows and a pinch cinnamon. Cheers!! My title of course is called: Hot chocolate. How I start my layout: When I start a scrapbook layout in mixed media design, I usually start with the embellishments.  In my case it was the cut-out paper of the Bella pa...

More than words September Main challenge

Image
Hello everyone  and welcome to our new September main challenge on the blog from More than words. Here is the link:  https://morethanwordschallenge.blogspot.com/ M y inspiration for you is a layout created on 13@rts paper where I glued a "BOOK PAPER" collage. My book pages come from a book that belonged to my mother. I also put book pages behind the photo of my mother. BOOKS did not play a major role in my parent's world, in contrast to myself... I read one or two books a week. I recently became the proud owner of an e-book reader. I am interested in many genres: crime stories, fantasy, women or historical novels. I am currently reading the series of the seven sisters of Lucianda Riley. When I read a book I need silence and then I dive into the world of the book. I don`t hear anything anymore. Often it happens that my husband has to call me several times before I notice that he has spoken to me... Yeah I am a real "book-worm". Here are our amazing sponsors for ...
