Scrap Fx Australia blog post

Hello lovely blog reader,

now we have only three days left, and then the new year begins.

For me it will be an exciting new year. So as: designing for my favorite company Scrap Fx Australia, next to More than Words and Nomadic Soul Diaries challenge sites. Additionally, I have one or the other guest design post and also there will be another new German-language summer course (maybe even in English) so it will be a creative new year for me. Of course I hope that I will find time to do a few tutorials for my YouTube channel.

But first I will inspire you with my last dt member project for the year 2019.

I created an art journal page with a Christmas card from our friends.

Simple art journal layout.
I used  DIN4 watercolor paper for my background.
I added Distress Ink in the color peeled paint and evergreen bough to the beautiful stencil Art Deco
Then I stamped with the same Distress Ink and stamps from my stuff.
After that I altered the edges with Distress Ink in the color vintage photo.
Now it was time for the color black.
I used for this step two stencils called Word of Wisdom and Mechanical Time and Distress Archival Ink in black. As the black color was dried I scribbled with a white ball-pen.
I used for my chipboards curly corner two red acrylic colors and red glitter
and for the word chipboards #family black gesso.
After that I glued paper doileys behind my photo and then I glued my focal point and all the chipboards and the mini frame on my page.
A little bit black color for splattering, washi tape and lots of glitter, microbeads, glass glitter and stars and my layout was done.
Here are some close up photos.

My second project is a book cover with lots of dimension and texture.

The book is actually not a book but rather my kraft, black and white cardstock-block, which I use for small projects as cards, ATC`s etc, etc...
I started with embossing a piece of white cardstock and the embossing folder "chicken wire" from Cuttlebug and an embossingfolder from Darice called "ticket".
After that I added lots of layers of acrylic paint to my embossed cardstock. My color choice was this time earthy tones.
Then I added on two pieces of packing paper lots of acrylic color also Seth Apter baked texture
and for the finishing touch Finnabair wax. Seven glue dots on my right site for embellishments
which I have painted with Alcohol Ink and a black string behind my chickenwire chipboard.
For my focal point I decided to create a bit of farm house style with the farm chipboards and the chickenwire chipboard from ScrapFx.
I painted the chipboards farmyard set and chickenwire with black gesso. After that I added raw umber acrylic paint.
Six white color stripes on the edges, where I painted black dots on it, for a little bit light on my page.
Word stickers and tiny paper dolls from Tim Holtz for the finishing touch.
Here are some close up photos.

Scrap Fx Australia DT member blog post

Merry Christmas my dear blog post reader,

probably some of you are already in stress with the last preparations for the festive

Christmas dinner.

That's why I want to keep this blog post for the company Scrap Fx Australia short.

Lets start.

I have for you as inspiration an art journal page in grungy style.
My photo is from Pixabay free photo images.
I created this page on DIN 4 watercolor paper.
At the moment my favorite medium is still the baked texture from Seth Apter.

First I added a layer acrylic paint in the color burnt umber.
After my first layer was dry, I repeated this step three times.
My next step was adding distress wax with my finger.
A little bit here and there.
After that I applied a thick layer of acrylic paint, in the color dark turquise.
I let everything dry well.
Then I wiped over the surface with a kitchen cloth and I removed the color dark turquise and the wax.
After that I put a thin layer of acrylic liquid orange-red over it, and immediately wiped it off with a baby wipe.

Now, it was time for my stamp images.
I started with blue Archival Ink and the number crunch stamp.
After that, I stamped with the ink versafine black and one of my favorite stamp from Scrap Fx "Squared stamp"
after that I covered my stamp image with the baked texture "Taos Sunset" from Seth Apter.
The baked texture needs a good heat with the embossing tool.

Under the beautiful silhouette "Fresh Flower Black" on the right side of my page,
I added acrylic paint in the color dark turquise and yellow ochre to the
flower buds stencil, also one of my favorite stencils from Scrap Fx.
After that I stamped with another company stamp.
I splattered with black acrylic paint and I added an acrylic color layer in black
but this time with the palett-knife.
I glued the title from Tim Holtz, my photo and the flower silhouette on my background.
A little bit grungyness to my edges and a little bit white color and I was done.

Scrap Fx design team member post

Hello lovely blog readers,

surrounded by music of snow-covered landscapes, burning candles, warm chocolate and happy children's faces, I get the feeling of the upcoming Christmas.

It is also the time of self-made gifts, of secrets, the smells of homemade cockies, the reunion of the family. All of this makes this month something very special. Here in the Netherlands it is the tradition that the gifts are handed over on 5 December. I think that's very nice. Because Christmas is then more the special day of the birth of Jesus.

But anyway.
I have for you an art journal page.

Today was going great until...people.

I found an photo image in a doctors magazine, which I transfer on my art journal page.
But first I added lots of acrylic paint on my art journal page. After everything was dried
I stamped with stamps from Scrap Fx and Versafine black Ink. Now it was time to attach my transfer images on my art journal page. Then I stamped again. After that I decided to apply a little color with Neocolor Crayons and a little bit of my favorite color, cadmium hotred from Old Holland. Finishing touch with big brush pens from Faber Castell and a title from Tim Holtz. Done.

My next inspiration is a mini book. Which I really really love to make.
In the last few months you have seen several mini books from me.
I like this kind of gift..

I started on a piece of junk paper (15 cm x 45 cm)
which I painted with white gesso.
After my gesso was dried, I folded my paper on the score line 15 cm and then on the score line 30 cm.
I decided to paint this time with my H2O`s colors and acrylic paint.
But first I played around with the beautiful diamond stencil and Distress Ink tattered rose.
Stamping with stamps from Scrap Fx and a transparency sheet as finishing touch ensure a perfect harmony on my mini book.

I used from Scrap Fx:
