Transparency special blog post 13@rts #2

Image
Hello and welcome, to my second blog post with the theme "Transparency" for the company 13@rts.  Here is the link to:  13arts This time I made an art journal page in my letter journal. I started with clear gesso, which I applied on my page. After that I applied the 13arts colors with my fingers on top of each other so that the colors mix with each other.  After my first color layer of paint had dried, I applied a layer clear gesso again.  The clear gesso ensures that the water-based paint of 13arts do not mix uncontrolled with each other.  The colors remain bright and beautiful. I repeated this step until I was very happy. Here it should be noted that the last step must be clear gesso. After everything was dried very well, I added a layer of modeling paste to a stencil.  Then I let the whole thing dry overnight. On the next day, I added color glow, stamp images and black gesso to my page. Final touch: silver glitter, posca pen scribbeling, and word sticker; and I glued my but

ScrapFx Australia June blog post #2

Image
Hello together,  nice that you're over today for my second blog post for the company ScrapFx Australia.  For my second blog post I challenged myself.  I have used a photo of my children three times. Once on a scrapbook page of the down under paper collection of 13arts and twice on white background paper DIN4, with an abstract design.  The new collage papers from ScrapFx are excellent for this style. It is always surprising what an effect a photo can have on the background. Although the photo is the same I have the feeling that it comes across differently on the three projects. My first project is a scrapbook page in mixed media style. For this I used the sweet Australian animal chipboards from ScrapFX. Many craft people around the world saw the Q and A from Tim Holtz.  I have also seen them and the embossing powder/ crayon technique speaks to me!!. I knew immediately, this technique I want to apply for the chipboards from ScrapFx. The only thing what I changed was the color under t

Transparency special blog post for 13arts #1 June

Hello everyone, today`s post is all about the transparency folie from 13@rts. What is transparency folie? Transparency is actually plastic foil with an imprint (design) on it. This foil can be cut with scissors or a big shot. You can color the foil with alcohol ink, or color glow acrylic medium mix. You can write on it with a water-solid pen or stamping with StazOn ink. I created a funky style scrapbook layout with a magazine photo image. I started on a white cardstock and I added clear gesso to my background. After that I added black gesso to the edges. I glued my focal point to the background. Then I added on the back of my transparency alcohol ink. My next step was that I glued my transparency to the cardstock. After that I decorated my layout with flowers and added my title and a little bit stamping. Done!!! Easy page for beginner... I used from 13@rts: Transparency Roses Clear Gesso Gel medium Alkohol-Ink-Turquoise Alkohol-Ink-Crimson Alkohol-Ink-Flamingo Alkohol-Ink-Limeade Title

Hello my dear blog readers,  I am happy the lockdown is lifted, we are allowed to go outside and we are allowed to do sports without contact I missed my taichi and sword fighting exercises very much: my trainer is also very happy; I have the opportunity to train 5 hours per week. Yeah. I want to be back in good shape, in no time :).. But anyway. Here is my first inspiration for the month of June for you. I created a mixed media scrapbook layout and an art journal page. You are amazing... is my title for my mixed media scrapbook layout.    To this page I have to tell you a little story about the stencil wich I used as embellishment. I don`t know what was going on with my brain in the time when I was creating this page, hahaha... while I was busy with my dt project I have heard an audiobook. With the thought that I have a silhouette in my hand I cut this beautiful stencil. This happens when I was with the thoughts at the audiobook. . Ok, I have to admit it looks very nice and fits perfec

Hello everyone,  today's post is my single blog post for the company 13@rts. Here is the link to the 13@rts blog:  blogspot Heike here from Heike`s AugenBlick and I have today the pleasure to inspire you to work with the wonderful products of 13@rts. The summer has arrived here in The Netherlands with days around 25 degrees Celsius.  Wonderful to sit in the garden and enjoy the nature.  I got a beautiful hammock with wooden stand from my handsome hubby.  Now I have to be careful that I don't just lie in the hammock and read.  Living is so beautiful if you know how to enjoy it. But anyway.. "FAVORITE"... is my Steampunk inspired mixed media layout with a photo of my son Joshua. A closer look. Background steps on my page: I started my mixed media layout on two sheets of paper called: Rosefield and the clock. My first step was adding two layers of clear gesso. After everything was dry very well, I added a layer of a mix from acrylic medium, color glow topaz and rainbow c

More Than Words June challenge "HELLO"

Image
Hello dear blog readers,  it is mid-month. That means, on the blog of MTW there is the 2nd reveal of the challenge from the Design team. Here is what I created for you: an art journal page. As you know, we would always like to know how the challenge inspired you. Here is my explanation:  Hello.  I count myself lucky. To live in a country where there is equality between man and woman. Not all girls and women in this world have this happiness. So I would like to show this layout in thought of these women. Who experience every day a new oppression and injustice. The "Doors and Windows" should stand as a symbol for more openness for this situation. I wrote the word "Hello" on the doorhanger. Here are the rules:                                              And here is our challenge board: More than Words link:  MTW                                    Please hop to the blog for more information and inspiration. Have a beautiful day. Thank you so much for visiting my blog p
