Art Journal Journey challenge inspiration..

Hello my dear blog readers,

I enjoy working in my art journal.

About 10 years ago I held my very first art journal in my hands.

Since then, a few books have been flilled with the years.

One book is for my watercolor journaling, one book for my vintage photos with urban painting,

one book in a whimsical style, one book for stamp and stencil work and

now my new book for collage combined with stamps and black /white photos.

My inspiration came from the august challenge by art journal journey, with the theme :

count your blessings...

Here is the link to the challenge blog:

art-journal-journey

Where I am blessed for...

first and foremost, I am blessed for my husband Jörgen,

whenever I see him, he does not just let the butterflies in my belly flutter

no, I would actually like to jump in the air with happiness.

What I do for over 33 years now. He has not only given me four adorable children,

but he allows me a life like I never dared to dream.

The butterflies stands for a lightness life.

The hibiscus flower stands for staying power.

The yellow moon stands for tenderness and understanding the everyday life.

The jumping women photo stands for my feelings for my husband.

The number four stands for our children.

The circle stands for the infinitity of love.

That all means count your blessings to me...

I used:
13 arts clear gesso, Archival Ink, ScrapFX stamp, 7 dots studio stickers,

Prima gesso, Prima acrylic color, Decoupage glue, Decoupage-paper,

This art journal page was my first try in the collage techniek.
I stamped all images on white tissue paper than I colored and glued on
my art journal. The little fox is from 13 arts and that black and white photo from a
children fashion magazine. My colors are from Finnabair. The stickers are from 7 Dots Studio.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Have a beautiful day and have fun with creating new memories xoxo Heike

Be Authentic"

In the beginning from my scrap booking time I threw away many layouts because I was not happy with the result.
Today I no, that was not right....I did not accept my mistakes...
If you want to be authentic in your art, you have to show the greatness to accept your mistakes.
Only through self-re flexion can on be abel to consciously experience and influence the creative process.
Only then can you become authentic in your art!
Authenticity starts in the heart!!
At some point I was ready to accept my mistakes...and that was the start to grow in my art,
to grow to be authentic.

scrapfx dt work...

Hello my dear blog reader,

it`s a time ago that I was online. This is a bit due to the weather here in The Netherlands.

Unfortunately I am one of the people who have a hard time when it gets too warm outside.

(as an absolute autumn and winter months lover, I cannot wait for my favorite months of the year.)

So I have also given fewer comments on my other social media accounts.

I did not even have the strength and energy to do this simple task.

 I apologize for that.

But anyway...

Here is my ScrapFX design team work from the month July.

I love to work with the fantastic products from them...

There are high quality products to work with and the shipping is world wide.

At the moment my favorite products are the silhouettes and transparency folder.

But the other products as stamp, stencil and of course the chipboards are amazing too!!

Scrap The Boys August DT member layout.

This blog post contains scrapbook advertising.

( Kent Nerburn)

Remember to be gentle with yourself and others. We are all children of chance and none can say

why some fields will blossom while others lay brown beneath the August sun.

Hello my dear blog readers,

it`s time to show you my DT member layout for the challenge on the blog by Scrap The Boys.

Here is the link: STB

CUT to YOU  create hand drawn cut files that anyone can use - Even if you don’t own a Silhouette machine!!

They will cut their designs at HQ and ship direct to your door.  If you do own a Silhouette, they supply PNG files as direct download as well.

 So something for everyone!

This month’s featured design is the ‘Wild Geometric’ and we just love what the design team have created with it!

Cut to you is also our sponsor for this month...

Here is the link:
createdbygwen.

You are not obliged to use the cut files, you can also be inspired by the picture with the

animal print or with the word " stay wild"

I did that!!!

I used for this page:

Scrap FX Australia chipboard.
Tim Holtz stamp, stencils and Distress Ink.
De stempelwinkel NL stamps.
Canson watercolor paper in DIN4.
Lindys Gang spray.
Washi Tape.

I hope that I could inspire you a bit.

I see you on the blog from Scrap The Boys.

More Than Words "Yesterday and Vintage"... with video tutorial

Hello dear blog readers,

on the blog from More than Words is the August challenge now online.

Yesterday and Vintage...

Here is the link to our blog: morethanwords
and all the other stunning DT member inspiration.

Word Inspiration - YESTERDAY
Creative Challenge - VINTAGE

What does the word YESTERDAY inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the actual word somewhere on your project
or simply be inspired by it.  Since words are an integral part of our challenges, we want to know how this month's word stimulated your creative process, so please do explain in your blog post how
it inspired you if it isn't obvious in your work.

We're heading back in time this month with a VINTAGE creative challenge. Think sepia or black and white photos, subdued colours and gorgeous textures. The vintage style evokes a sense of history with images and elements associated with a forgotten (or unforgotten thanks to the wonderful hobby of scrapbooking) past. You might like to use an old photograph, a patterned paper with an antique look or an old-fashioned embellishment on your project. Look back to the past for your inspiration!

My Mother...

Such a beautiful challenge. I created a special size layout for my sons (Joshua) photo book.

On the photo is my mother also Joshuas granny.

Unfortunately she is no longer with us, and sadly, I do not have many photos of her.

This is one of few that we still have after a water damage in our house.

The sepia photo incorporates the Vintage creative challenge

and the word Yesterday is handwritten on the page.

Here are our challenge rules.

I also made a background video tutorial.

I used for this layout:

Distress Ink, victorian velvet, broken china and pine needles.
The Crafters Workshop Stencil.
Tim Holtz stencil 106.
Lindys spray, Chateau Rose, Bodacious Blush.
Lindys embossing powder, cosmic blue and Chateau Rose.
Prima Light Paste.
Gouache raw umber.
Ranger Archival Ink coffee.
Versafine Ink.
Hobby Shop Sandra stencil.
Hero Arts stamp happy days.
LaBlanche stamp Augenblick.
Tim Holtz bingo stamp.
Marianne design girl stamp.
Canson water color paper.

As embellishments and layering I used:
old vintage paper,
handmade flowers,
Memory Box DIE cutting.
Sequin, glass glitter, glitter, mica flakes, micro beads,
Pentart gold paste.
Vintage stickers.

That can youre prize!!

I hope you have a beautiful August month.

Thank you so much for visiting and commenting my blog post.
xoxo
