Scrap Fx blog post April #2

 Hello everyone,

and welcome to my second blog post in the month of April for the company Scrap Fx. Australia.

Here is the link to ScrapFx: http://www.scrapfx.com.au/store/

Finally our lockdown here in The Netherlands which started on December 15th, 2020

will be lightened a little bit.

The children are now allowed to go to school twice a week.

We are allowed to do group sports outside.

We can have two people at the same time at home for a visit.

Unfortunately the numbers of infection are still extremely high and the hospitals are also very busy.

But our politicans hope that the people will still follow the Covid-19 rules.

I have decided for myself that I will stick on the stay at home rule and I hope that

it is possible that I will also get my Covid-19 vaccination quickly.

But anyway.

I created for you as inspiration another one sheet paper mixed media art journal mini book.

But the size is a little bit different. The pages are long and small.

The theme from my book is "The Sea".

This is my first page:
I used the seaweed stamp with black embossing powder and I painted the seaweed paddels
with red, white and yellow acrylic color.
Some transparency and collage paper from Scrap Fx for my embellishments.

On the next page:
Die Erde (= the earth),  as collage paper, transparency and a beautiful silhouette from ScrapFx.

The next page:
Also a piece of the earth collage paper and my embossed 9dots embellishments.

And again the beautiful seaweed stamp from ScrapFx.

On the backsite I used a different color combination more light rose and yellow.

I used from ScrapFX:

Fern Leaf stamp

Ancient Map B collage papier

Compass BLACK silhouette

Kraft Paper Phares

13@rts April single blog post

 Hello my dear blog reader,

todays blog post is for the company 13@rts.

Here is the link: http://13arts.pl/

Begin 2021 I decided to create more layouts with my big stash of vintage photos from different

companys and my own old family photos.

This scrapbook page in mixed media style is with one of the vintage photos as well.

For me the color pink is more a men color. When you look at the history of the colors.

The pink color was in the 19th century a boy color.

The pink color was seen as a stronger color and the perfect match to brown hair and brown eyes.

But this changes in the baby bommers time rond 1940s.

Pink became the color for girls.

Anyway.

I created my mixed media layout on the beautiful Spring Pastel paper collection.

So beautiful.

A closer look to my page.

This is the Pastel Spring paper pad 12inch by 12inch

This is the Pastel Spring paper pad A6

This is the page which I used for my background.

I started as always with clear gesso from 13@rts.

Two layers are perfect at least for me. I added the clear gesso with the silicon brush

also from 13@rts.

TIP: If you add clear gesso with a brush, you can create a beautiful texture on your page,

the silicon brush creates more a smooth surface.

In my art journal tutorial on my YouTube channel

have I explaned how I create my dark black shade with color glows.

Perfect to see on the right and left site of my page.

This is what I used from 13@rts:

Scrap Fx blog post April #1

 Hello everyone,

I hope you are all good and your day is wonderful.

The Spring is coming and I am so happy.

What started with a typical April weather so as: rainfall, snow, sun and frost,

ends after a week of Easter in lovely sunny weather.

I cannot wait to work in my garden. As all hobby gardeners I have some

new plans for my garden. I have already planted three new trees, a plum tree, a cowardly tree and

a pear tree. Unfortunately, our 1930 land wall is no longer stable enough, the wall threatens to fall.

Unfortunately, the construction workers did not have time to rebuild the wall until October.

Now I have a part of my garden that doesn't look so good, but I don't think that's so horrible

I get a beautiful wall in October, walled up with the original stones from 1930.

 But anyway.

I have two beautiful design team member projects for you, with the amazing products of ScrapFx.

At the moment I really love to create art journal mini books from one sheet of paper.

My paper is an acrylic color paper in the size 46cm by 66cm. Quite a large sheet of paper and

I have a lot of this kind of papers in my stash.

With this large piece of papers I have lots of possibilities

to make mini books and other projects.

Actually I am a scrapbooker, but I also love to create art journal pages.

Art journaling for me is free without rules, experimenting without fear,

playing with color and mediums, the use of products in a different way

and playing with different styles.

In contrast to my mixed media scrapbook layouts which have 3D effects,

I like it when my art journal pages are flat.

My art journal pages do not arise as quickly as my scrapbook layout pages.

I always say; art journaling for me is a never ending story.

I always like to return to my pages for markmaking and scribbling.

That means that it can be that these art journal pages can look different next week already.

LIFE IS SHORT.... is the title of my mini book.

On the first page is also a black and white photo of an abstract face painting which

I painted many years ago. The original painting is 34cm by 56cm.

My fabric ribbon is from an old tablecloth from my grandmother.

I added stamp images to my fabric ribbon with the new seaweed stamp of ScrapFx.

On the next page one of the scribble faces of ScrapFx.

Behind the face is a text from the dream stencil of ScrapFX.

And again one half of the scribble face, diamond stencil, round stamp

Lots of cross- stitching, maschine-stitching and markmaking.

On my art journal pages I love to work with waterproof colors.
Acrylic colors, acrylic-inks, acrylic-pens, mostly from the brand Old Holland ,
or Amsterdam, Schmincke liquid ink, Posca acrylic pens and Deco Art acrylic colors
For stamping I prefer Archival Ink.

Funky peeps designed from Michelle Logan for ScrapFx below on my page.

For my finish touches I really love to add transparency to my art journal pages.

On the photo below you can see how I start..

And here is another tip for you.
I like to create my own embellishments.
The 9dots stamp from ScrapFx is perfect for creating embossed circle.

Here is my second project with the seaweed stamp of Scrap Fx.

A quick and easy card. My base is a craftpaper card, I added some paper from 13@rts

a little bit black gesso and the embossed and watercolor painted seaweed stamp image.

Summer Love.

I used from Scrap Fx:

The Link to the Scrapfx store is on the bottom of this blog post.

stamps:

9 Dots stamp

stencil:

Kites stencil

transparency and collage paper

Mandala transparency

Scribble Faces B collage

Black Box Phrases I used the kraft paper phrases.

13@rts Color Glow inspiration.

 Hello everyone,

Today it is all about the metallic shine powder from 13@rts called " Color Glow".

I am a big fan of the beautiful high pigmet Color Glows.

The possibilities to work creatively with the powders are limitless.

I am listing a few possibilities to create with the powders.

1. mixing with water.

2. mixing with liqued acrylic medium.

3. mixing with gel medium.

4. mixing with multipupose gel medium.

5. mixing with acrylic binder.

6. mixing with modeling paste.

7. mixing with gesso.

8. mixing with mist/spray.

One of the great thing to create and mix my own mediums with the color glows is.

I can determine the intensity of the color glows by myself.

I can mix soft and light colored color glow mix or

I can mix bright and strong colored color glow mix, depending what I need.

Here is my scrapbook layout in mixed media style with the new release of Color Glow.

I had a PERFECT day when I created this art journal page.
The birds were singing so beautifully and the air outside felt as if it was spring.
So I decided to create a pastel color art journal page in honor of the upcoming spring.
The word PERFECT is glued as a little piece from my dictionary and for the creative challenge I followed the sketch vertical.

I hope you feel a little bit inspired from my art journal page and my SKETCH.

Which I done on my scrapbook layout above.
Here is a photo of the original  wooden panels background,
from the new paper collection Young and Free,

Hello everyone, and welcome to my last design team inspiration for the company ScrapFx Australia. For health reasons, I have to say goodbye...
