Hello my dear blog reader, I am so happy that you are back for my second May blog post for the company ScrapFx Australia. We are having here in The Netherlands a beautiful springtime with summer temperatures. This is a bit unusual. Normally it rains here in spring more, now my garden is already so dry, it feels as if the summer has already been.  But anyway... I created for you an art journal page and a post card. I will start with the art journal page. I created my art journal page on watercolorpaper. I used Distress Ink in red and green, black gesso and splash ink from13@rts. Tim Holtz tiny stickers. Hello lovely people, how are you? Slowly we get more opportunities to move outside here in The Netherlands.  The primary schools are reopened and  the older children should be able to go back to school starting 20th of May.   It comes back a piece of normality in our lives.  But anyway, I created for you as inspiration an art journal page  and a scrapbook layout with a photo of my daughter Mia. I used on my scrapbook page the fantastic chipboards from ScrapFx. The chipboards are absolutely high quality products.  I love the thickness of the chipboards and the possibilities to edit them.  This time I painted them with watercolor, without a layer of clear gesso on it.  I was positively surprised how well the watercolor comes over on the chipboards. I created my page on the new paper collection "down under" from 13@rts. First, I started with a white wash on my background paper. Hello friends from 13@rts,  I am Heike and I am your host for today.  Now we have the month of May. What luck do we have with this spring weather.   We spend many hours in our garden, which now shines so wonderfully in the green spring color. And the first BBQ we have already passed. But anyway. I have for you as inspiration a scrapbook layout with a photo of my youngest daughter Mia. How I start my creative process. 1. I started with two layers of clear gesso from 13arts. This clear gesso layer allows me to work with liquid products so as watercolor. 2. My second step is then always the selecting of my photo. I prefer black and white photo images. 3. Then I decide to put together my color-theme. Here I let myself be guided by my feelings of my mood of the day. 4. For a success on my craft tabel, I like to create with nature- relax music or classic music. A good cup of tea next to me. That is what I love to do before I start with creating. For the May IG challenge from Nomadic Soul Diaries I created a layout 12inch by 9inch with a photo of Romy Schneider as Empress Sissi from Austria. As a young girl I watched these movies with joy. The lovely friendly nature of the actress Romy Schneider as Empress Sissi of Austria has enchanted many Christmas days (favourite time for these films shown on television in these days ...). Today I know that the real Empress had little in common with the film character. I think Romy was my rainbow with her loving kindness at the Christmas time long time ago. I used for my layout: Watercolor paper from Canson. 13@rts watercolor set and design paper, travel around the world. And Finnabair art pebbles. Hello my dear blog reader, it is May already...and we are still in the lockdown situation for the covid 19 virus. I think we need a little bit fun. The main challenge from MTW is all about fun and stripes. I created for this challenge an art journal page in my altered journal book. I found that face images in a magazine and I did an image transfer with it. Lots of stripes, doodeling and lettering for the background, A word sticker from Tim Holtz, and I was done.. For this challenge, using the word FUNNY, I have decided to create an art journal page. In my childhood there was only one phone at home. This telephone had a fixed place in the entrance hall. You couldn't really walk around with the phone because it only had a connecting cord of about 2m. I was raised with three brothers who made it their mission to  always  annoy me when I was on the phone. Today I find this story funny, but at that time it was almost a doomsday. Soft colors with a shabby-chic and romantic touch. I immediately felt inspired. Elegance... I created a scrapbook page with the paper collection "ROSALIE". The name of the paper sheet is: "secret letters". For my embellishments I used the Rosalie-emhemera pack and chipboard set "Victoriana". I created the 3D texture with modeling paste mixed with texture powder and two beautiful stencils: "antique text" and "circle of life". For a little bit color I used the color glow "golden-calcite". For my finishing touch I used black micro flakes.
