Scrap FX second blog post in November

 Hello my dear blog reader,

and welcome to my second blog post for the company Scrap Fx Australia.

Here is the link:

There is still a lot to do, this week, before the festive December month starts. We let our house this week completely insulate. So that we use less electricity and gas to keep our house warm. This is our contribution in 2020 for a better climate in 2020. For next year, maybe a rain water system so that we use less tap water.

But anyway, here is my project for you as inspiration to work and create with the beautiful products of

Scrap Fx.

I created a mini book in accordion style. This is always so much fun to do.

I used a DIN A4 size watercolor paper which I colored and collaged first, before I cut and fold into a mini book. There are plenty tutorials on YouTube for this kind of mini book.

I fold the longer sides on top of each other and then I cut them through. I glue the two pieces together to make a long piece. My book is then 10 cm by 46 cm long. Then I score at: 6 cm, 12cm, 18cm, 21cm, 28cm, 34cm, 40cm and 46cm.

After that I decored my book with stamps, stencil images, with collage paper and chipboards.

Tiny words from Tim Holtz and heart pearls and my book was done.

Class of `62

I used from ScrapFX:

Art Inspiration rice paper

Triangle Pentagons stencil

I hope you've been a bit inspire to create with the products of ScrapFx.
 See you in December.
Have a beautiful day.
Love and greetings to you.

Christmas Special Post 13@rts "Santa is coming to town"

 Hello everyone,

and welcome to the special blog post for the company 13@rts.

Our design team special post is all about "Christmas".

I created a scrapbook layout in mixed media style in the colors  light blue and red.

The inspiration comes from the Christmas photo from a magazine

Christmas is always something very special, with the decoration. Every year I think again, I should change my colors of the Christmas decoration. Normally I have red, pink and rosegold as colors for my Christmas decoration. My new favorite combination is: blue, brown and rosegold. Let's see if I'm going to change it this year... I still have a bit of time to think about it.

Santa is coming to town.... is my title for my scrapbook page.

My perfect Christmas red is a mix from Rainbow Color scarlet, Watercolor-set the red color and Ayeeda Medium liquid medium.
For the light blue, I used white gesso and Color Glow blue saphire.
For the stencil work, I used: Gel medium and Rainbow Color scarlet and WOW sherbert embossing powder.
I cuted the animals from the paper collection:  "travel the world" after that I embossed with Distress glaze embossing powder.
My chipboards are painted with the New acrylic inks in black and turquoise, (word Beautiful and Christmas)
The flower chipboards are painted with chalk blue light mist spray and finish touch with Finnabair wax.

I used from 13@rts:

DREAMLAND-12x12 paper pack

Papier-By-the-fireplace-DREAMLAND background paper sheet

Papier-Hello-December-DREAMLAND torn paper background

Papier-Daylight-SUNRISE fuzzy-cut paper

Chalk-Blue-Light mist spray

Of course I created another project a little Christmas town.

I created this decoration with the beautiful new paper collection Dreamland and the new ART book.

I used from 13@rts:

Papier-Wonder-of-nature-DREAMLAND fuzzy-cut paper

Thank you so much for your visit.

Have a beautiful day.

ScrapFx Australia inspiration November #1

 Hello my dear blog reader,

welcome to my first blog post in the month of November.

Here is the link to the company ScrapFx. Please use this link also for your visit:

I created for you an art journal page, a scrapbook layout and a mixed media project.

We had in The Netherlands a couple of rainy days.

Perfect for this kind of hobby, right...

I also have a new desk with the matching chair and with the view in my garden.

I'm such a happy girl that I have a place to create and I enjoy my favorite place, every day.

But anyway.

Here is my first inspiration.

Ancestral memory, a little mixed media art.

This little piece of art is my decoration on my new desk.
So lovely.
I started on a mini easel with a layer of black Gesso.
After the Gesso was dry I added with a dry brush acrylic color in blue, rust brown
and patina green. My next step was painting the beautiful chipboards of ScrapFx
with the same colors from the easel. For the finishing touch of the chipboards I used embossing powder and vintage wax.
I don't know if you have also a little treasure box on your desk, with little pieces from friends, kids, from the nature or, or, or... I found in this treasure box a photo. I think it's a photo fromTim Holtz or Finnabair, doesn't matter. I wanted to have an old effect on this photo. I added to the photo Ink refresher from Ranger. After the photo was dry I added Distress Ink to the photo and acrylic glitter ink.
Fuzzy-cut stamp images with Distress glaze embossing powder. Silver folie 3D flower with alcohol ink
and another treasure from my desk box. I glued the whole thing together with a piece of laces between.
3D medium products as finishing touch and I was done.

My next inspiration is an art journal page.

Most of all I prefer for my art journal pages DIN A4 watercolor paper, which I keep in clear plastic folie.
This kind of art journal storage works best for me.
For this art journal page my focale point was the beautiful gothic-window stamp from ScrapFx.
My color combination was dusty rose and mint green chalk paint. I stamped also with this chalk paint.
For adding the color to the stamp I used a little cut-and-dry foam from Ranger, perfect for this step and kind of work.

And last but not least my scrapbook layout in abstract style.

Create your own path...

I started on a white cardstock in the size 12 inch by 12 inch which I covered with clear Gesso.

Gesso is a perfect base and layer between paper and mediums.

I have different gessos in my assortment. For white backgrounds I prefer Krylon spray gesso.

For design paper backgrounds I prefer 13@rts acrylic base gesso and for mixed media projects I prefer

Liquites gesso. I have also already used self-made gesso but quickly realized that a project

also needs good material to bring the colors to life.

For the fantastic chipboards of ScrapFx I prefer black gesso or white gesso as base.

For my  scrapbook layout  today I used for the chipboards black gesso and then

acrylic color in two different blue shades.

You know me already, I really love abstract art and  I'm not afraid to connect different styles.

There are the folkart flower chipboards called: fabulous flowers. The black and white photo from 1950s and the metal flowers and the collage paper combine perfectly together.

Scribbeling and transparency for a wonderful abstract finishing touch.

This kind of art makes me happy:)

I used for my dt member projects :

Blueprint ricepaper

Veined Leaf LARGE Black silhouette

Fabulous Flowers chipboard

Chevron Panel chipboard

Thank you so much for your visit.
I see you for my second blog post.

November singel blog post 13@rts "HOT Chocolade"

 Hello my dear blog reader,

I hope you are well and you enjoy the Autumn season.

I created for you a scrapbook layout of course in mixed media style, with my thoughts on the

festive month of December. I love hot chocolate with wipped cream, so yummy.

For me this drink is part of feel good in the cold months.

Here is my favorite recipe for hot chocolate:

You need:

 250ml milk,

 a pinch cinnamon,

 a teaspoon of brown sugar

and 45gram dark chocolate (broken into small pieces).

Heat three teaspoons of milk with the rest of the ingredients until a creamy substance is formed.

Then add the rest of the milk. Fill the hot chocolate in a cup.

Finish touch: wipped cream, mini marshmellows and a pinch cinnamon. Cheers!!

My title of course is called:

Hot chocolate.

How I start my layout:
When I start a scrapbook layout in mixed media design, I usually start with the embellishments.
In my case it was the cut-out paper of the Bella paper collection.
After that I go on the search for a suitable photo and background paper. My favorite free photo site is "Pixabay".
Then I start with a so-called raw design: I put the photo and my embellishments (without glue) on my background paper. Then I search again for more decoration products and embellishments.
After that I decide about my color combination, my 3D effect mediums and the use of stencil and stamps.
If I am happy with my so called raw-design, I start with the fun part of my design. First adding of clear gesso on both sites of my background paper. I let my background paper air dry. In the mean time
I paint and color my embellishments.
This is how I start my scrapbook layout in mixed media style.

A closer look:

For my layers behind the photo I always use the A6 paper packs.
Perfect also for DIE cutting ( Doiley in the left corner behind my photo)

Here is a perfect closer look to the new glas nugget from 13@rts.
I glued the glas nugget on the dier images from the new ART book from 13@rts.

DIE cutting with the A6 Victoriana paper and finishing touch with embossingpowder.
Underneath a piece of the Bella transparency.

Each new paper collection comes with a cut-out paper sheet.
Sometimes I have the feeling with the cut-out paper elements that I have to change the colors a bit so that they fit better to my design. Therefore I mostly use watercolor and for the finishing touch
I use Color Glow.

I used from 13@rts

Papier-Wonder-of-nature-DREAMLAND background paper sheet.

Papier-Ciao-Bella-BELLA cut-out paper sheet

Basic mediums:

Gesso- black-500-ml

Color and 3D mediums:

13arts- spray-Gold

My favorite tools:

13arts.pipetten for spray

Glas mat-Tim-Holtz-A3

Heat tool-Ranger

I hope I was able enough to inspire you to create with the beautiful products of 13@rts.

Stay safe my dear creative friends.

More than Words main challenge leafs and season

Hello everyone and welcome to the new main challenge for the

challenge blog More than Words.

Our rules are:

Here is my description:

No festival season 2020... is my title for this challenge.

I created a scrapbook page in mixed media style

with a photo from "Thirty seconds to mars".

Unfortunately there was no festival season this year because of the pandemic.

I am happy that I have Spotify, where I can hear my favorite music. It doesn`t replace the feeling and joy of a festival. I know that of course... But it`s better than nothing!!

For the creative challenge I create my own leafs with watercolor from 13@rts which I attached

to my focal point. I also stamped with a leaf stamp on my background.

I see you on the blog from More than Words.
