Scrap FX second blog post in November

Image
Hello my dear blog reader, and welcome to my second blog post for the company Scrap Fx Australia. Here is the link:  http://www.scrapfx.com.au/blog/  There is still a lot to do, this week, before the festive December month starts. We let our house this week completely insulate. So that we use less electricity and gas to keep our house warm. This is our contribution in 2020 for a better climate in 2020. For next year, maybe a rain water system so that we use less tap water.  But anyway, here is my project for you as inspiration to work and create with the beautiful products of  Scrap Fx. I created a mini book in accordion style. This is always so much fun to do. I used a DIN A4 size watercolor paper which I colored and collaged first, before I cut and fold into a mini book. There are plenty tutorials on YouTube for this kind of mini book. I fold the longer sides on top of each other and then I cut them through. I glue the two pieces together to make a long piece. My book is then 10 cm

Christmas Special Post 13@rts "Santa is coming to town"

Image
Hello everyone,  and welcome to the special blog post for the company 13@rts. Our design team special post is all about "Christmas". I created a scrapbook layout in mixed media style in the colors  light blue and red. The inspiration comes from the Christmas photo from a magazine Christmas is always something very special, with the decoration. Every year I think again, I should change my colors of the Christmas decoration. Normally I have red, pink and rosegold as colors for my Christmas decoration. My new favorite combination is: blue, brown and rosegold. Let's see if I'm going to change it this year... I still have a bit of time to think about it. Santa is coming to town.... is my title for my scrapbook page. My perfect Christmas red is a mix from Rainbow Color scarlet, Watercolor-set the red color and Ayeeda Medium liquid medium.  For the light blue, I used white gesso and Color Glow blue saphire. For the stencil work, I used: Gel medium and Rainbow Color scarlet

ScrapFx Australia inspiration November #1

Image
Hello my dear blog reader, welcome to my first blog post in the month of November. Here is the link to the company ScrapFx. Please use this link also for your visit: http://www.scrapfx.com.au/blog/ I created for you an art journal page, a scrapbook layout and a mixed media project. We had in The Netherlands a couple of rainy days. Perfect for this kind of hobby, right... I also have a new desk with the matching chair and with the view in my garden. I'm such a happy girl that I have a place to create and I enjoy my favorite place, every day. But anyway. Here is my first inspiration. Ancestral memory, a little mixed media art. This little piece of art is my decoration on my new desk. So lovely. I started on a mini easel with a layer of black Gesso. After the Gesso was dry I added with a dry brush acrylic color in blue, rust brown  and patina green. My next step was painting the beautiful chipboards of ScrapFx with the same colors from the easel. For the finishing touch of the chipbo

November singel blog post 13@rts "HOT Chocolade"

Image
Hello my dear blog reader, I hope you are well and you enjoy the Autumn season.  I created for you a scrapbook layout of course in mixed media style, with my thoughts on the   festive month of December. I love hot chocolate with wipped cream, so yummy. For me this drink is part of feel good in the cold months. Here is my favorite recipe for hot chocolate: You need:   250ml milk,   a pinch cinnamon,  a teaspoon of brown sugar  and 45gram dark chocolate (broken into small pieces). Heat three teaspoons of milk with the rest of the ingredients until a creamy substance is formed. Then add the rest of the milk. Fill the hot chocolate in a cup.  Finish touch: wipped cream, mini marshmellows and a pinch cinnamon. Cheers!! My title of course is called: Hot chocolate. How I start my layout: When I start a scrapbook layout in mixed media design, I usually start with the embellishments.  In my case it was the cut-out paper of the Bella paper collection.  After that I go on the search for a suitab

More than Words main challenge leafs and season

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to the new main challenge for the  challenge blog More than Words. Our rules are: Here is my description: No festival season 2020... is my title for this challenge. I created a scrapbook page in mixed media style with a photo from "Thirty seconds to mars". Unfortunately there was no festival season this year because of the pandemic. I am happy that I have Spotify, where I can hear my favorite music. It doesn`t replace the feeling and joy of a festival. I know that of course... But it`s better than nothing!! For the creative challenge I create my own leafs with watercolor from 13@rts which I attached  to my focal point. I also stamped with a leaf stamp on my background. I see you on the blog from More than Words. xoxo Heike

Hello my dear blog reader, and welcome to my November challenge inspiration for the company 13@rts. Here is the link to the blog from 13@rts: https://13artspl.blogspot.com/ The November mood board comes with beautiful fall season colors. Here is the mood board: I created a scrapbook layout in mixed media style. I was inspired by the photo in the middle below and by the owl photo. At my focale image I used a photo of books. Reading books is my favorite second hobby in the cold months of the year. In the warm months of the year I really love gardening. A week ago I became a proud owner of a wireless headphone, so I can now listen to my favorite  audio-books, while my handsome hubby listen his favorite chess videos. But anyway: Here is my page.
