Today is a hot chocolate kind of day and live-love-surf Scrap FX Australia DT work with video tutorials.

Hello everyone,

this is my second post in February for Scrap FX Australia.

I made a mixed media layout and of course my site

for Joshua `s photo book.

I also made two video tutorials for you.

As I have already explained in one of my last post,

This year I will try to reduce my paper stock.

I found on pintrest a photo with two cup of hot chocolate, yummy, yummy

and this awesome design paper from the dollar store here in The Netherlands

give a great combination together.

At the moment we have a lot of nights with minus degrees.

Even during the day it is so could that you need gloves. So I think the hot chocolate

fits not only the design paper but also our weather here in The Netherlands.

But anyway .....

Here is what I used for my layout from Scrap FX Australia:

Abstract Scrapbook Layout for Scrap FX Australia with Video tutorial

Hello everyone,

welcome to my new Design Team inspiration

for the Company: Scrap FX Australia.

Here is the link to the blog from Scrap FX: Blog

Scrap FX Australia is a chipboard company with high quality chipboards,

stamps, stencil and silhouette.

I made for the February month an abstract scrapbook layout on Kraft paper

in black and white.

What do I call abstract scrapbooking (ASB)?

Well, first of all there are NO 3D flowers on the layout but

chipboards, iron wire, sewing thread and as well cut photos.

For me the background work is the most important aspect of ASB

I see my abstract scrapbook page as a further processing of the photo.

In the best scene of the words: so the photographer and the scrapbooker stand side by side,

to create a work of ART together.

I create my ASB on monochrome paper, so that the background becomes more effective.

Just as when you will start painting on white canvas. I applied the colors with the

paletknife. Also you can use other mediums such as: modeling paste, crackle paste,

embossing powder etc etc etc.... Stencils or stamps can be used as tools.

Glitter, micro beads and art stones are a nice finish touch.

But anyway here is my layout...

I used:

13@arts clear gesso, Prima Marketing black gesso,

WOW embossing powder, Ecoline white,

Prima Marketing art stones, Powertex 3D balls,

Tacky glue, Ranger Heat Tool, LaBlanche flower stamp,

Posca white pen, Ranger ultra thick embossing powder in black,

7 Dots studio sticker, Ranger emboss it dabber, Unity stamp company stamp set keep wild,

Kraft paper 30 cm x 30 cm, decorative laces, black glass glitter.

Also the products from the Scrap FX Australia store.

Stick it down layout with video tutorial

Hello everyone,

today I would like to introduce you to a special collaboration between the two challenge blogs

Scrap The Boys and Stick it Down.

Stick it Down prepared the sketch with which we were allowed to play creatively.

As always, I made a mixed media layout which I will show here today.

On the photo you can see our youngest children actually now young adults.

The photo was taken years ago in Tunisia.

Here in The Netherlands we have in May always the so-called Royal Holidays

which are about a week. We have always used this time to fly where the sun is, to escape the rainy

Netherlands.

Well, you cannot have everything...

I am grateful that we had the opportunity to visit this country.

But anyway here is the link to Stick it Down: SID

and here is the link to Scrap The Boys: STB

This is the sketch for the challenge by SID.

No automatic alt text available.

I made a video for this challenge page, as always I worked with different materials.

This is what I used:

13@arts clear gesso, Prima black gesso, white gesso, Prima Modeling paste,

Heindesign Germany Sternenstaub embossing powder, Archival ink, Distress Ink,

My Mind`s Eye paper, Tilda paper, Crafters Workshop stencil, Twinkeling H2O olive, Tim Holtz

stamp set, chipboard Action, power tex 3 D balls, Panduro Acrylic,

I have been asked why my video tutorials are so long. Well there is a reason for that and that is:

When I started years ago with scrap-booking I learned a lot from other video tutorials.

But unfortunately I had to realize again that for me as a beginner some tutorials were played too fast.

So I said to myself if I should ever start with filming tutorials I will play it slower.

So for anyone who does not feel fast enough, please have understanding for those who are just

beginning and still want to learn a lot. Hopefully!!

But anyway....

On the sketch from SID you can see that a big heart is in the foreground, of course it is the month of

Valentine.

Now my two children are having a very good relationship with each other and I think that it does not

have to show a couple in love but it can also be the love between brother and sister.

Big smile...

Thank you for stopping by have a beautiful day.

xoxo Heike

More Than Words DT member layout February 2018

Hello everyone,

today is my turn to inspire you for the new challenge of

More Than Words. Here is the link for the challenge: MTW

Our challenge this month is the word "Forever" and our creative challenge is "Heart".

Please read our challenge rules well, so you have a chance to win one of the great

prizes from our February sponsors.

I stamped with heart shaped stamps and Archival jet black Ink and added modeling paste on a

heart shape stencil.

Also I cut out paper hearts and used them as embellishments behind my photo.

The word "Forever" inspired me to add a photo with a couple that follows the heart.

32 years together with my love of my life is something to be proud of,

and this time fills up like forever. At the time when I married, it was clear

to me that this marriage should be forever with children, laughing, love and health that is all what I

wanted and asked for.

But anyway here is my layout.

Follow your heart...

Here is what I used:

I also used:

7 Dots studio paper and sticker.

Scrap FX Australia chipboard.

Wire and Chain Frame

I hope you are all inspired and that you will play along with us this month.

Thank you for stopping by, have a beautiful creating time.

Scrap The Boys February challenge with video tutorial

Hello and good morning everyone,

today I want to introduce you to the new February challenge on the

blog from Scrap The Boys.

We have as February challenge a color selection in blue and green tones and

there are three words you can work with: Explore, Dream and Discover.

The colors are not a must do, but the theme "outdoors" has to be on your page.

Image may contain: text

I have chosen for a recent photo of my son Joshua.

Joshua did a 7 months internship in South Africa.

Jörgen my husband and I visited him for almost three weeks at the end of November 2017.

During this visit, we made a tour to Jeffreys Bay a must be for surfers.

Yes, this is where the photo was taken.

I can only say that my husband and I feel in love with South Africa.

But now back to the challenge for Scrap The Boys.

buy the way here is the link to the blog from Scrap the Boys: Scrap The Boys

I used for this layout;

My Mind`s Eye Stella and Rose paper,

13@arts clear gesso,

White gesso,

StazOn jet black and teal blue Ink,

Sternenstaub heindesign  embossingpowder, Aqua Glitzer, Dunkles Türkis,

Lindy`s Stamp Gang Spray: Shabby Turbine teal and Time Travel Teal,

Finnabair Black gesso,

Amsterdam Acrylic light blue,

WOW embossing,

Unity stamp company Hello Beautiful,

Tim Holtz and Dylusions stamps.

One of my favorite techniques is to put many mediums on top of each other to play with

colors and to keep the embellishments / decoration simple so that the background gets the full

attention. Actually, I liked to design my scrapbook pages on white background paper but that I

will change a bit. In the last years, I have collected a lot of scrapbook design paper

with the plan to make great projects with them like mini-books, tags or cards. This never happened

because my passion for the 30 cm x 30 cm pages is still fascinating me so much that I

do not want to do anything else but 30x30 projects on scrapbook design paper in the moment.

But anyway: Here is now my layout for you...

DREAM...

I used for my embellishments: black sisal, wood chipboard, lace, sequin,

paper circles from left over paper.

For those who are interested to see how I made the layout. Here is a video tutorial.

I hope that I could inspire you and that you will have the pleasure and time to join us this month.

There is a change in our blog. We have now a new international design team which of course is great

because so many different styles come together and you can see a lot of pages that inspire you.

So do not forget to have a look on the blog from Scrap The Boys.

Thank you so much for your interest, see you next time again !

Have a great day.

xoxo Heike
