Scrap Fx blog post May #1

 Hello everyone, 

and welcome to my first blog post in the month of May for the company Scrap Fx Australia.

I have for you as inspiration one scrapbook layout and two art journal pages.

So let`s start with my scrapbook layout.

Every step of the journey is the journey.


A closer look to my page:



I started my layout on a paper sheet from 13arts called: Travel the world,

which I covered with clear gesso first.

After that I decided to make a white-wash on the paper background with white gesso

and a little bit water.

My next step was stamping and stencil work with Archival Ink and Scrap Fx stamps and stencil.

After that I did my paper layering behind the photo. I also decided this time to create

a scrapbook layout without 3D effect. That means no art-stones glitter and pearls.

Only transparency and chipboard from ScrapFx as my decoration.

My next inspirations are two art journal pages.

Circus de ScrapFx is my first one.

I`ve been always looking to create something different with products.
This is what I love,  to challenge myself.
Here on this art journal page I used the gears collage paper
from ScrapFx to create something playful.
I had this art dolls from Mischief Circus in my stash
and voila an idea was born...just like that!!



My second art journal page is a little bit different in color combination and theme.

Live Your Life

 Good morning everyone, how are you today? The last few days, we had wonderful sunny days here in The Netherlands. Perfect for a summer scrapbook layout in mixed media style, right? I played along with Tim Holtz snapshot photos, a couple on a beach. The yellow color on my page stands for the sun and the blue watercolor for the sea. Don`t we all want to live our lives as we please? Since I no longer have obligations as a designer in design teams. I am free for my other hobbies, so as gardening, reading and fitness. I am busy converting my garden entirely to a permakultur garden following the method of Ruth Stout. After three years of a warm and dry summers I can see and feel the climat change in our garden. After that, I would also like to grow more of our own vegetables,  new plant beds had to be created. What a beautiful way to spent the time outside. But anyway there is also the new book of the "Seven Sisters" waiting of me to read it. LIVE YOUR LIFE... I created this layou

Guest Design Layout

 Hello everyone, and welcome to my second Guest Design project for the company  Shimmerz Paints . Once again I played along with the May release called "Flower Power Honey" This is such a beautiful Kit in soft pastel, brown and orange colors. The Kit includes also Vibez, Blingz and Shimmerz- fussy cutting paper, and decoration elements. If you like the vibe of the seventies this is your paper collection. Pauls Class... A closer look to my background work: For my background I used two of the beautiful paper sheets. But I shortened 2 cm from the top paper sheet,  so that the bottom paper sheet looks out at the edges. This is such a beautiful frame as well. Next I used two layers of clear Gesso on the front side and one layer of clear Gesso on the back side from my background paper. After my Gesso was dry, I added gel medium to a stencil and then I sprinkled randomly embossing glaze on the wet gel medium. After my embossing glaze was heat embossed I played along with the Shimmer
