Hello my dear blog reader, and welcome to my second blog post for this month for the company ScrapFx. Here is the link:  http://www.scrapfx.com.au/blog/ I hope your Christmas was filled with lots of happiness, love and laughter. For my second blog post I was inspired by the abstract art of Hilma at Klint. Hilma at Klint was an Swedish artist born in 1862. The Swan 1940 Hilma at Klint. This is the painting which inspired me the most. I have consciously placed the women photo in the middle of my scrapbook page,  just as Hilma at Klint did by her painting the Swan (picture above). I don`t know what inspired you, or what motivated you to create art.  I my case it was the abstract art from Robert Rauschenbach, Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning and Hilma at Klint. But there are so many more artist which I really love. I like to scroll through art books, that is for me the best inspiration and motivation to make and create art.  ART MAKES THE SOUL GROW. I don't know if you feel the same

Hello everyone, and welcome to my design team work for the company 13@rts. I hope you had a beautiful Christmas time with lots of lovely memories. Our Christmas time was quiet, Jörgen my handsome hubby had  to work in the hospital. So we only had the Christmas Eve lunch with three of our four kids. I enjoyed the time we had together. It is so sad that the time for Christmas music is also over. I love Christmas music and one of my favorite songs is:  "Walking in the air" "Walking in the air" is  a song from Howard Blake created for the 1982 animated UK Christmas special "The Snowman" based on the book by Raymond Briggs. The song was sung by choirboy Peter Auty. The song has become a kind of Christmas standard in the United Kingdom, as the animated special has become prominent in British culture airing annually similar to  "A Charlie Brown Christmas" in the US. Here is a short lyric from the song. Walking in the air We `re walking in the air. We`r

ScrapFx Australia #1 Scrapbook Layout and Art Journal Page

Hello my dear blog reader, welcome to my first blog post in the month of December for the company Scrap Fx. I created for you one scrapbook layout in mixed media style and one art journal page. We have here in The Netherlands cold, frosty days and I am so glad that our house is now warm and cosy with the new Kingspan isolation.  Since Monday we have a lockdown here in The Netherlands until 19.01.2021. Hopefully, we have the virus then behind us and the vaccine shows us the first effect. But anyway, my Christmas layout has a non Christmas color combination, at least for me. Cobalt blue with a bright yellow color on a dark red background and white highlights. I started on  yellow cardstock with a layer of clear gesso. After that I cut a sheet of the 13arts Victorian paper collection in stripes. Then I painted the edges with cobalt blue acrylic color and I glued the stripes to the  yellow cardstock. After that I paint a little bit with the yellow and cobalt blue acrylic color and I added

December challenge More than words: Childhood and Gold

Image
Hello my dear blog reader, todays inspiration is for the December challenge More Than Words. Here is the link:  https://morethanwordschallenge.blogspot.com/   The beauty of Christmas, is the beauty of CHILDHOOD. I decided to create a Christmas scrapbook layout in mixed media style for our main December challenge. I love everything about the festive December month. The smell of homemade cookies, hot chocolate, the tradition decoration in red, green and gold, the secrets and the family togetherness. The memory of my Christmas-childhood long time ago was my inspiration for the December page. I used for my layout the Dreamland paper collection of 13arts and I added lots of gold glitter ink and WOW gold embossing powder on the background. Also a little bit gold glitter ink on the clock. I wish you a Happy Christmas with many beautiful memories. Here are our MTW rules: Our prizes: MAIN CHALLENGE WINNER  (as voted by our DT)  $50  USD value prize from   THOMPSON'S CRAFT SUPPLIES 4 RUNNER
